Although Urban Flats (Orlando) LLC filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy this week a few of its restaurants will remain open.

According to Lori Shew, a former vice president at Urban Flats, made a statement that since she owns the downtown Orlando Urban Flats independently her restaurant will not be affected by the bankruptcy filing. Other Urban Flats' locations in Central Florida - Winter Garden and the Villages - will not be closed either as they too are independently owned.

At this time the current owner of Urban Flats, Suzanne Bonham, is not responding to media questions. Yet the court documents for the bankruptcy filing show that Urban Flats listed assets of $0 to $50,000 and liabilities of $1 million to $10 million.
